Skin cancer accounts for the largest number of cancers diagnosed in Australia each year and we recommend that you have a full skin check on a regular basis with your GP.
Your doctor will be able to offer ante-natal and post-natal checks, pregnancy planning and advice and can work with your obstetrician or in conjunction with The Cairns Hospital for shared care during your pregnancy.
There are many options available for contraception and your GP can provide you with the information that you need to help you make the choice best suited to your needs. Several of the doctors within the complex are experienced with Implanon insertions and removals. Because every person is unique you will need to book an appointment prior to undergoing this procedure to discuss your situation.
For those trying to conceive, advice and referral options are available to help you on your path to parenthood.
All Australian Government Department of Health recommended vaccines can be accessed through the practice and are bulk billed. The National Immunisation Program funds these vaccines and recommends that to get the best protection, vaccination should happen on its due date. If your child needs their high school vaccinations, please ask to speak to your doctor or the nurses as they may need to be ordered from the Tropical Public Health Unit. If you are from overseas and need to align your child’s immunisations with the Australian Immunisation schedule, please bring in any paperwork and the nurses will work with the Tropical Public Health Unit to get you up to date.
