We are now a member of the TRAVEL MEDICINE ALLIANCE (TMA). This is an alliance of independent Travel Medicine Doctors (formed in 2005) to assist members to provide a better service to their patients through the sharing of knowledge in this specialised area and having better access to products.
Why visit a TMA Doctor before travelling? Many travel destinations expose people to unfamiliar environments and risks. These risks can be easily managed provided the patient has up to date pre-departure health information and correct/current vaccinations. TMA Medical Staff are familiar with the exact health risks in the various countries and regions, including the best management of them.
We recommend that the patient seeks advice at least 8 weeks prior to departure to allow the vaccines to take effect and any side effects to subside.
